cooking up another touhou poster
you know a song goes hard when listening to it just enough throws you into a fit to draw the most suffocatingly crowded drawing ever
the song in question is miko's boss theme from touhou 13: ten desires, but SPECIFICALLY the falkkone remix which is what got me to look into TD's soundtrack further. it's a simple melody throughout but this arrangement is gorgeous. and of course, i thought, "i must draw something based on this...!!"
ten desires was not on the top of my list of touhou games i wanted to whip up successors to the eosd and lolk posters (i was thinking unidentified fantastic object, subterranean animism, or mountain of faith. YES because of the soundtracks too), but man this arrange is just that good. plus, i think miko is one of my favorite characters in touhou purely based on design. the comparison is even noted in her fandom section on the wiki, but she reminds me a lot of a vocaloid or a niche utau mascot, both with the earmuffs and the overall color scheme (omg i love the character with yellow purple and pink who would have guessed?). if this poster idea ends up flopping, you'll probably catch me making a drawing of miko standalone to compensate. so regardless, i can't wait :)
the sketch hasn't progressed far enough to share a wip yet. these complex posters always start off with the most asinine of chicken scratch plans, so it'll take a bit of iterating before i feel ready to share the wips, if i get to that phase at all (i hope i do tho). hehehehehehe
